SoundGate Guitar Is Product Hunt's #1 Education Product of the Week

SoundGate Guitar was named Product Hunt’s #1 Education Product of the Week. The award followed our July 29 launch, when we reached #2 Product of the Day with more than 450 votes. We were proud of both results, but what stayed with us most was hearing from people who downloaded SoundGate, played guitar with it, and told us what they thought.

From #2 Product of the Day to #1 in Education

We came to Product Hunt for a simple reason: we wanted real people to try SoundGate. We hoped for honest reactions and a few useful conversations. We received far more than we expected.

By the end of launch day, SoundGate was #2 Product of the Day. Later that week, it became Product Hunt’s #1 Education Product of the Week. For a small team, seeing SoundGate recognized alongside so many strong launches was a special moment.

The rankings introduced SoundGate to more guitarists, but they also gave us something we needed just as much: a chance to speak directly with the people using it.

The Excitement Reached Beyond Product Hunt

News of the launch traveled beyond Product Hunt too. The following day, Music Ally wrote about SoundGate in Startup SoundGate launches an AI tutor for learning guitar.

To everyone who posted the link, sent it to a friend, mentioned SoundGate, or took the time to write about us: thank you. Every share helped another guitarist find us, and we felt that support throughout the week.

What the Product Hunt Community Told Us

People wanted to know how SoundGate handles real-time note detection, progress tracking, backing tracks, and distorted tones. They asked when it might come to Android and whether bass and ukulele could be next. We also heard interest in better recognition of bends, slides, vibrato, and palm muting.

Some of those ideas were already on our list. Others made us look at the product from a new angle. Together, the comments gave us a clearer picture of how people want to use SoundGate in their daily practice.

How the Team Is Using the Feedback

Our team read every Product Hunt comment. When the same request came up more than once, we noted it and compared it with what we were already building.

We cannot build every idea at once, so we look at how much each one could help a guitarist practice and improve. We test the strongest ideas, put them in front of players, and listen again. The conversations that started on Product Hunt are still helping us decide what to build next.
